Not every gospel moment belongs in the studio. Conferences, church services, outdoor gatherings, and concerts around Durban need sound that is planned for the room they are actually in, and a recording that is more than a phone at the back.
What this service is
Live sound at SN7 is support for ministry events: playback for a worship team, recording a service or a conference session, and practical sound for a gospel gathering in and around the North Beach side of Durban. It is scoped from the venue and the programme. We do not pretend every enquiry is a festival, and we do not arrive with a guess.
If the event also needs to be seen, video coverage can be planned with the audio so the recap uses the clean recording, not the camera microphone. If the goal is a studio single rather than a live document, book the worship team into the room instead. A live recording and a studio record answer different questions.
What we need from you
- The venue and a note about the room: church hall, tent, conference venue, beachfront gathering.
- The running order, even a rough one. Who speaks, who sings, what is played back.
- Whether lyrics must be heard over a band, because that changes the priorities.
- Whether you need a recording to keep, a recording to broadcast later, or only the live sound in the room.
Send this on WhatsApp early. Live days fail when the brief arrives the night before and the venue has one plug and a stage that was never measured.

North Beach, South Beach, the Point, the CBD, Addington, Stamford Hill, Greyville, and the nearby ridge are the natural range for event days, including gatherings around the Greyville and stadium precinct. Durban North, Musgrave, Essenwood, and Glenwood are possible when the date is held properly. Look at the service areas and name the venue in the first message. If we are not the right crew for the scale of the day, we will say so.
Questions about this service
Do you provide a full festival PA?
We scope live support from the venue. A church hall, a conference, and a large outdoor concert are not the same equipment list. Describe the room and the crowd you expect. We will confirm what we can bring, or tell you if the day is beyond this booking.
Can you record the service while running sound?
Often, yes, if that was planned. A recording added as an afterthought during the call to worship is how both jobs suffer. Put it in the brief.
Do you work with our existing church technicians?
Yes. Many churches already have volunteers. We can support them, train the setup for that day, or take the mix. Say which relationship you want.
